We’re inviting pilots and aviation organisations across Australia to take the Aviation safety pledge – a voluntary commitment to actions that help keep aviation safe.

Safety is a shared responsibility. Research shows that when people make a public commitment, they feel more accountable and are more likely to follow through. The pledge builds on this principle, reinforcing safe behaviours across the industry.

By taking the pledge, pilots and organisations:

  • reinforce positive safety norms
  • strengthen their identity and reputation as safety advocates
  • contribute to a culture where safe practices are expected and actively maintained.

Choose your pledge

There are 2 pledges to choose from:

  • My safety is in my hands – for pilots, committing to thorough pre-flight preparation, continuous learning, and following regulations.
  • Their safety is in our hands – for organisations, committing to providing the resources, environment, and leadership needed to support safe operations.

Recognition of commitment

Pilots and organisations who take the pledge will be recognised on a public list on our website and receive a digital badge – perfect for sharing on social media or a website.

Get involved

You can help by encouraging others to take the pledge:

  • share it with other pilots, aviation organisations, and industry contacts
  • highlight the importance of making a public commitment to safety
  • remind them that taking the pledge earns them a digital badge and a place on the public list.

Take the pledge today and show your commitment to aviation safety.
