Safety Management Systems for Aerodromes
All Certified Aerodromes must have a Safety Management System in place by 1 January 2007. CASA has produced some general advisory material about safety management systems as well as some more specific information for aerodrome operators to assist in developing an SMS manual.
The SMS Proforma can be adapted to suit most aerodromes that have a small number of staff and tenants and a medium or low level of activity. It is a document that is designed to be incorporated into the operator's Aerodrome Manual and it covers the safe operation of the whole aerodrome. Examples of each section of the Proforma are available to download below.
